Hello KCRBL families of players entering Majors and Minors,

On Sunday, March 26, we are holding our tryouts sessions (evaluations) for all players new to the Majors and Minors levels. The evaluations will be held indoors at Kingswood Regional High School in Wolfeboro. 

These are evaluations, which provide baseline skills data for all the coaches, inform the league about appropriate placement of players at each level (particularly for those wishing to “play up” or who have not been part of our program in the past), and provide info in order to form fair teams (where and as much as possible). 

We will be evaluating the Majors players first, at 10 a.m. Then the Minors players will have their evaluations at 12:30 p.m. We will have a check-in table where parents bring their athlete(s) for the tryout. We strongly encourage parents to drop off their kids and then return to get them when it is over. Tryouts will last 90 minutes to two hours depending on number of players.

Players should arrive shortly before their time slot to check in. Within a week after the evaluations, coaches will reach out to their players and families.

The tryout includes fielding groundballs, catching pop-ups/flyballs, throwing to a target after fielding, hitting and bunting, running, and pitching for those who are interested in pitching. Each player should bring a bat (if they have one), their mitt, a batting helmet, and a water bottle. Sneakers only; no cleats for the tryout.

During the Majors evaluation at 10 a.m., any 10-year-olds considering playing up but who have not registered for Majors may attend. If coaches feel the player is not ready for Majors; the player may be asked to also participate during the Minors evaluation that follows.

Any 8-year-olds who are considering playing up to the Minors level must come to the Minors evaluations so that we can ascertain whether the player is ready for this level.
